Tesla
Tesla has become the world's most valuable carmaker, surpassing Japan's Toyota. Its founder, Elon Musk, wiped out $ 14 billion worth of Tesla in May, but its shares are still high. After years of losses, the California-based company has delivered three consecutive profitable quarters, maintaining that pace in the first three months of 2020 despite coronary heart disease. However, Toyota remains a bigger business in terms of sales. The Japanese company sold 10.46 million vehicles in March and reported revenue of 30.2 trillion yen ($ 281.20 billion). Tesla 2019 ended with $ 24.6 billion in sales, up from 367,200 vehicles last year. However, investors are optimistic about the U.S. company's potential, believing it will dominate the future electric car market. Analysts at stockbroker Jeffries said the company was significantly ahead of its peers in terms of product range, capacity, and technology. Reflecting that, the company is now worth about three times as much as the combined value of U.S. rivals General Motors and Ford.Mr. Musk said Tesla would deliver at least 500,000 vehicles by 2020.
